Relief Printing Blocks & Photoengravings
Before offset lithography and digital prepress, Taylor Instrument published its product catalogs, corporate letterheads, and commemorative booklets using letterpress relief cuts. These original zinc and copper plates were mounted type-high on hardwood blocks. Because relief cuts strike paper directly, all lettering and portrait orientations are laterally reversed on the metal surface.
